I think one of the problems that we will run into pretty fast is that one of the definitions of Tizen Common is that it will contain features that are Common between two or more profiles. Now if we look at the Smartphone profile and the wearable profile that might be used by something like the Samsung Gear S, then the overlap that is created and inherited for Tizen Common will be immense, and will probably create a Tizen Common that will encapsulate some core IoT aspects.

IoT by its own definition can vary immensely, but for a lot of "node" type use cases we MAY find that Tizen Common could suffice, as we don't need a UI. I think we have to see how Tizen Common will evolve.

My 2p worth.

With all due respect, I don't think I agree with you. The specifications of Tizen profiles related to IoT should depend on the different use cases. For example, in certain cases gadgets may require headless Tizen (aka Tizen profile without any UI).

In my opinion Tizen:Common is not a profile which is suppoused to fit all use cases. As far as I know it should be used as a base profile which should be easily extended by new profiles depending on the technical requirements of each specific case.

Best regards,
Leon
