this works perfectly well on my system: i'm have it running at the moment.

i have this installed & have encountered no problems with it.

i'm not sure what's involved in being a maintainer,
but if there's no-one else better qualified,
i'm willing to volunteer to maintain those i use.

you really should not assume that all apps are being developed all the time.
some things are simple & just work, so no-one spends time "improving" them:
that's probably the case with most of the items you list above:
eg can you refer to any open bugs involving any of them ?
