| it's a fair indication that there may be something wrong with your
| system.

Pretty unlikely, all things considered...

| obviously, but you've offered no reason to include any of the items
| which i listed as fully usable in that category.

The *reason* is that due to various developers leaving, switching herds
and so on, I'm supposedly maintainer for all these packages.

| Blackbox & the add-ons i use are neither pointless nor broken in any
| way; Blackbox itself is being actively developed by Brian Hughes at
| Trolltech, with a new version 0.70 due out in the near future.

At which point the package won't get a version bump unless someone takes
over as maintainer.

| no, you do one yourself: you're the one making extraordinary claims,
| which don't seem to match anyone else's experience.

*shrug* given how I get an email every time someone reports a problem
with one of these packages, and then several other whiny emails from
users when their bug sits there ignored because no-one's maintaining the
packages in question, I think I'd know what I'm talking about...

| what an extraordinary statement ! you think a lack of bug reports
| shows that no-one cares about a package ???

When a package won't compile with gcc3, and it gets no bug reports, yes.

| if you are simply feeling overworked,
| the correct approach is to say so explicitly & honestly
| & ask for someone to volunteer to take over some of your tasks.

This isn't the first time I've asked for additional people for
commonbox. Since my previous requests were mostly unanswered, it's
gotten to the stage where I'm going to have to start p.masking and
removing if people don't help. Although, it seems this time's having
more results than before...

| i've already offered to consider maintaining the 6 packages above
| myself, depending on what is required & what skills i can contribute
| or learn.

Do you have someone who's prepared to recruit you?
