I recently encountered a nasty bug in Konqueror that is preventing me from using it as a file manager under KDE 3.1.0.
Is there a way to re-emerge just the Konqueror browser without re-emerging the KDE base of other programs? I am wanting to reset Konqueror to installation defaults so that I can get around this bug. The bug involves changing the View mode of how directories appear through Konqueror. I believe it's the second or third View mode that is the problem. Since changing it, Konqueror refuses to stay open long enough for me to change it back (or to a different one). Every single time I try to view a directory through Konqueror (any directory) it just closes on me. All by itself. I have tried to edit the konquerorrc file and to remove ViewMode but it does no good at this point. I just can't use Konqueror as a file manager anymore. Any suggestions as to how to reinstall and get a fresh Konqueror or how to otherwise deal with this? People on the KDE list couldn't figure out a solution.
