Unfortunately, this doesn't work for me. So let me re-cap: I have 1. removed upower and installed upower-pm-utils; that did not work; 2. masked first gentoo-systemd-integration, which didn't work, then masked systemd as well; that hasn't worked; 3. ran "equery depends upower" and removed the remaining upower-dependent MATE and XFCE packages; that has not worked; 4. masked virtual/udev-208-r2; that has not worked.
