Well I would suggest using the wiki as a "scatch pad" if this is the 
case. But perhaps not everyone shares my desire to keep the sphinx docs 
nice and clean, although I had thought this was informally agreed upon 
at some point.

I don't really appreciate the overstatement, but I get the message. And 
I object to the argument of disregarding a guideline because it is not 
considered a rule. Unless there is a good reason for not following a 
guideline (and i see none here) it should be followed the same as a 
"rule" imho.
