Hey Folks,
Would it be possible to hold WhereCamp the weekend before Where 2.0? My thought it that Memorial Day weekend may be a problem for some people. Travel and hotel costs may be slightly higher and those with kids or loved ones with the day off may want to spend time with them. Also, are there space/accommodation requirements for where WhereCamp is held? I know at Google last year they feed us, gave us tents and cool places to hang out. Is all of that required by one sponsor or is there a possibility that those responsibilities could be divided among a few groups. Further expanding on this thought - perhaps NASA Ames could provide us with the space to meet but then some other group could sponsor food and goodies. We think that this won't affect our crowd very much but if you have any thoughts about this please advise. We do have some choice in good spaces where we could go; notably the awesome venues we've used before such as the Yahoo Campus - but it just seems fair to let everybody have their say. If you have any thoughts please dm me. Also of course we'll be looking for sponsorship - please sponsor if you can. Other WhereCamp's that I know of coming up include WhereCampAfrica (in April 2009 I believe ) and WhereCampPDX ( in September 2009 ) - these folks will be twittering as well into the main channel so keep your eyes on the twitternets : http://twitter.com/wherecamp Take care, anselm - http://twitter.com/anselm _______________________________________________ Geowanking mailing list [email protected] http://geowanking.org/mailman/listinfo/geowanking_geowanking.org
