It's a good question. And difficult to build a complete consensus over it. In the interests of practicing democratic decision making let's see what folks think. Yes there are a few space requirements that make it tricky: 1) Two full days basically ( Saturday and Sunday and late into the evening Saturday - People routinely are up till 4 am ). 2) Several reasonably sized rooms for breakouts. Yahoo Campus was excellent at this. Google Campus was also good but the one huge main room tended to attract the most attention. 3) An ability to pitch tents both outdoors and or indoors if it gets rainy. We've been lucky so far. Pitching tents is usually outside the bounds of most venues. 4) WIFI, power and the like. 5) We also often bring in food sponsorship and the first year Ryan got us a band - these all take room and require a corner. The Google Campus was amazing at this. 6) Some kind of reasonable security; I'm not that worried about it but it's one of those things - if laptops get stolen etc then people will be sad. 7) Accessible. Both Yahoo and Google require driving for better or worse. It's conceivable that NASA or other venues ( which we've made no particular arrangements with yet at all!) could be easier to access. Why not just go straight back to Yahoo or Google? That's the counsel we've been given by most folks in the interest of reducing complexity. We're just making sure to listen to choices however. We still have time right now so we can afford to talk a little bit longer.
