When this has been discussed in the past the general idea was that
everyone is preparing for Where (presentations, organizing, booths,
etc.) so "sitting around" brainstorming may not be an option. In
addition, there are often many new announcements that people wouldn't
be able to talk about beforehand.

I could imagine that it would be interesting to demo/highlight some of
the interesting hacks at Where2.0 that come out of a preceding
WhereCamp, but WhereCamp is also exhausting, and going from
all-nighters into a conference would be trying.

From my perspective, WhereCamp leads Where2.0 by about 2-3 years.
We've come out of the exhilarating "here's what's just crossing the
horizon" at Where2.0 and then can move into thinking "What's just
beyond that horizon" at WhereCamp.

Anyways, that's just my opinion. Looking forward to the result of Anselm's poll.
