Wouldn't it be a very nice picture, all that crocus flowers in october.
May be, you can make a tourist attraction from it and charge a
admission fee...
 Saffron = Crocus sativus needs a sunny place, normal to sandy and
chalky soil. Normally plant time already in August. You can buy the
bulbs from gardening stores sometimes in germany too.

 Beware, your saffrons don't eat the saffrons... ;o)) (the voles will
do it with the planted ones...)
