Saffron, for those unfamiliar with it, is the stamens (I think--some
reproductive part) of a certain type of crocus flower.  It is not hot and
I'm not aware of any *psychodelic* effects but I think I would leave it out
for financial reasons if nothing else.  It is the most expensive spice in
the world being such a small part of a small plant and requiring harvest
with TWEEZERS!
