I took Violet to the vet today, & she said to give her a week to get some
hair growing back on her nose. If that doesn't happen, she wants to try
ivermectin, on the off chance that she has mites.
The vet also said she had read that corn cob bedding could be irritating to
gerbils, & that paper would be better. It doesn't seem to be bothering
anybody so far, but they have a lot of litter they made themselves out of
paper & cardboard in all my cages/aquariums. So, I don't know... I think
I'll get some carefresh & see if that helps Violet. Nobody else is having
any problems. Violet & Erroll are coming up on 5 months & they haven't had
any babies yet, though. I'm wondering if there might be something wrong? Do
some gerbs just take a long time to mature?
thanks,

P.S. I put up some more baby pictures of my schimmel/silver schimmel cross
babies at http://people.tamu.edu/~rda3507/silver.html -- their eyes are
open now. =)
