If you do that, you will have dead gerbils.
They do best with daily feeding and daily water change/fill.
If you absolutely have to, make sure they have a large waterbottle
and feed them a double ration, and you can leave them for the
weekend...if you check the waterbottle in a few hours (before
leaving) and make sure it's not leaking.
I don't recommend it as a regular thing; but I just did this last
weekend and my pairs were fine. And glad to see me when
I got back Sunday night and came in to feed late.
