Hi List,
I have a female gerbil that is in a wire cage by her
self. She is one of those gerbils that will just not
get along with others so she has to be alone. I feel
really sorry for her because all she does all day is
chew on the bars of the cage. Her cage is a three
story one so she has room to move but she always just
site in the same place on the top floor and chews on
the bars. When she is not doign this she is sleeping
in her nest on the bottom of the cage. She hardly eats
(when i change the food it is ALWAYS almost full
still) and she drinks little but she is fat. Well the
reason i am writing this is because she is now losign
her fur. Her nose and paws are totaly bald now from
the chewing. I feel so bad about her...not only is she
unfriendly toworde other gerbils but she hates being
held and played with to (she just hates everyone, adn
she will show you by chomping down on you) so she
really is totaly alone. What can I do for her? I
really dont have a spare 10 gallon tank to put her in
(i use them from my breeders) and since she just wont
get along with anyone she cant share a tank with
someone (i do have a few tanks that are not breeders).
Please tell me if there is somehting i can do for
her, or bye for her to do so she wont chew on the
bars. Thanx a lot.
