Unfortunately the problem certainly doesn't lie with my ISP. I say unfortunately, because it's relatively easy to change ISP. But my quoted speeds are 100Mbps/40Mbps, and on some sites I get my 10Mbps per second. With get_iplayer I have in the past seen speeds up to perhaps 8 Mb/s, but nowadays it's far lower. Right now I'm getting 1.1 Mb/s, and am poised to cancel the download as soon as I get an "Unexpected size" error. Which has just occurred, not 2 minutes after I wrote the previous sentence.
