With the mandrake linux, there is a program call "drakfont" which load new font
for X, and also for all you're program. Look at :

http://www.rpmfind.net/linux/RPM/mandrake/cooker/cooker/Mandrake/RPMS/drakfont-0.35-1mdk.i586.html

I have used it on my computer, you can load, unload font, but you couldn't
unload the pre-installed fonts.
