I think that's a good idea. I'm a passionate writer who occasionally looses a perfect line in the heat of the moment. Thanks to git I was able to find one: I knew I had the perfect description of an abstract emotional construct *somewhere, *I knew vaguely where but it wasn't in any of my current stories. I was able to go through my git repositories and find it—according to the comments I made at the time I had thought it was a throw-away line, I'm very happy to have found it.
