I had a go at doing this, but ended up a little frustrated. MacPorts
didn't seem to work for me, and I have no idea why. That said, I could
persevere, but there's an important point here. I'm convinced that it is
good for us to make Haskell as easy as possible for causal usuers to pick
up and play with. Many Mac users become used to a double click, all-in-one
install, and would be put off something else. Developers who are mac users
may be an exception to this.
Simon M tels me that the Windows version bundles gcc. It's probably
apropriate that a Mac double-click install would do the same.
I appreciate I'm calling for a bit of work from someone, but I think it
would become quite widely appreciated.
