I don't know how to convert bushels of wheat (a volume measure) to
tonnes.

The point is that the price for years was about $4, went to $5--6 last
summer and is about $15- now. On the negative side for the farmer,
the price of fertilizer is now over twice what it was last fall.
Falling US dollar probably plays a role as well.
