The water boiling in a half-full kettle on your stovetop is chaotic.
It's extremely unlikely it will boil out of the kettle and flood the
stovetop.
Now double the amount of water in the kettle, so it's brim-full, and
bring it to boil again.
Have you predictably changed the likelihood that it's going to boil
over?
Please do this as a thought experiment, you can work it out.
