Discreditation by association?  I don't know or care about the
politics of Steven Milloy.

Here's an article on 'warming interupted' at realclimate.  The
relevance to this discussion is the climate shift in 1998/2001 - i.e.
abrupt climate change.  Simply saying that the >past 10 years is
irrelevant because it is noise is not an explanation of the noise.

The 2009 Swanson and Tsonis paper was called - Has the climate
recently shifted?  The answer was yes - i.e the 'noise' is meaningful
and the non warming might continue for another decade or 2.
