There is of course the one disadvantage of rudder pedels that nobody wants
to talk about.  The leg/foot room in an Ercoupe is relatively limited.  As
I
get older, I find it more and more uncomfortable to fly with my knees bent
and feet flat on the floor.  I like to stretch out and rest my feet on the
upslope area where my brake pedal is.  If it had ruddar pedals, that would
be impossible, and thus the bird would be less comfortable for me to fly.
And, let's not forget the added weight and lower useful load the Coupes
with
pedals have.
