After spending $5,000.00 on my last annual, I can see real merit in leasing. After all, I hear all this talk about having to spend big bucks fixing spar corrosion. If you were leasing, the owner would be the one to sweat. I'd be more inclined to lease by the hour of flight time. After all, a flat rate would still have to be tied to hours or the poor sucker could really take it in the shorts if you flew the feathers off of it. On the other hand, if you pay an annual rate, but don't fly much, you could take the hit. So, just figure a fair hourly rate, and go with it.
