Changing the trim wire should be an easy one. I believe you don't even have to follow your old one with a new one. If you can move the wire with a pliers, its not corroded tight. Maybe the whole cable is kinked somewhere ??? If so then even a new wire will have problems. I think however it is not a problem with the quadrant's construction. Can you move the handle easily with the wire detached?? In my two Ercoupes I flew I always had a nice and quick response in the quadrant. PLUS I could see what the current settings where ( full power versus 3/4 power - similar for the trim settings) Replace the wire - it's just 26 bucks and forget about the problem. I have tried to work mine loose all summer with various lubricants to no avail, I can move it with a set of pliers, but not with the console mount lever next to the throttle. The local FBO does not carry the stainless stock. What I am cuious about is this, is it possible to take the old one aout and after sanding it, get it back in. My experience with cables of this type in the past has been that it is best to follow the old one out with the new one abutting it. Your input is appreciated, my intention is to take the old one out, and if I have enough after I clip off the one crimped end, the sand it , lube it and put it back in. If I don't have enough after cutting off the crimped end, I will need to replace it.PetePete :-):-):-):-):-) Have a great day!!! ================================================================== TO UNSUBSCRIBE go to: http://ercoupers.com/lists.htm ================================================================== TO UNSUBSCRIBE go to: http://ercoupers.com/lists.htm
