...stay current... is the rub, Charlie. Too many get the Instrument
Ticket, never
practice the stuff, hit some clouds and say "I'm IFR, I can do this," and
get into
a jackpot. Take an extra pair of eyes up a couple times a quarter.
The VOR system is being phased out in favor of GPS. With
D(ifferential)GPS,
approaches to ILS minimums will be available most every where soon. I'm
waiting for the multiple-GPS coupled with display technology so what you
see
on the windscreen is what you could see out the windscreen if the fog
wan't in
the way. "Coming soon, to a `coupe near you!"
