Right you are Leslie. It seems to me that in an Ercoupe there is just a
lot 
more
difference between power-on and power-off sink behavior. Like about 5MPH
worth. A 150 or 172 doesn't start to sink quite so readily and 
rapidly...indeed,
the landing gear seems to absorb the result of a sinky landing.

Now actually, when I had the vernier throttle on N2906H I was astonished
at how
little power it took to adjust the sink in and out. It often felt like 
'dial-a-landing.' About
a quarter of a twist arrested sink, about a half a twist set her down from

a 'hover'.
