What we need is someone who is in touch with Google announcements, who can tell us (1) what new format, if any, was announced on Sunday, and (2) whether the change earlier last week to the new Compose window is now permanent and it just needs to filter down to everyone. It's slightly odd that Sunday was 31 March. If it was a day later (today, April Fools' Day), that would be another thing entirely, as we all know. Personally, I do not believe that Google made the new Compose window permanent last week. I think what happened is they switched everyone over to new Compose, but still give you the option to revert back. That's the way they introduced new formats before (first make it available if you want to try it out, then switch you over but let you switch back, and not until several weeks later make it permanent).
