Hi,
I've been having problems upgrading to the 2.3.42 kernel from stock RH6.1
kernel (2.2.12-20). I've done many kernel upgrades in the past without
any problems and the only reason I've taken so long to do so now is
because I needed the IPSec VPN patch (which only went up to 2.2.x as far
as I know). Anyway - compiled it fine several times but can't get the darn
thing to go through a boot without a panic. I'm not quite sure at what
point it panics I just know it's after probing for the nic and before
mounting the filesystem. Before I started I checked the "Changes" file and
it appeared that I only needed to upgrade modutils (which I did). I
configured it with all the options I normally use leaving out things I
don't (like isdn, infrared, etc.). Any hints?
