OTOH, one of the nice things about the head+tank design is that you do
replace the head frequently. One of our customers at work made the mistake of
buying an Epson series printer where the inkjet heads are part of the print
carriage. So replacing the print head requires disassembling the printer.
It is thus cheaper to buy a new printer then to replace the print head.
The best design I've seen was on that Canon 6000 model, where the ink tank
drops into a removable carrier which contains the print head, and that in turn
drops into the print carriage. But I'd rather have the tank+head design used
in many HPs then the Epson design.
