All,
I'm looking for something to encrypt entire hard drives. Well, actually,
what I need to do is to protect the data that is on laptops. If the
laptop is stolen, I want the hard drive to be useless. So it doesn't
have to be encryption, just some sort of safety mechanism. Unfortunatly,
the laptops are dual-boot with Windoze and Linux. I've seen
Windoze-based programs to encrypt drives (PGP Desktop, RSA Keon, etc.),
but they all have the same problem: "Transparent Encryption". With this
stuff, if single files are stolen from the machine, they are useless,
but if someone steals the laptop, they can still see everything. Also, I
haven't found anything for like this for Linux. Does anyone have any
suggestions for products like this?
TIA,
Kenny
