Upgrade my bunutils and modutils?  My wife would not approve...


But more to the point, the failure comes immediately,
as in: during the first microseconds of life; we're
nowhere near the point where anything like bunutils
or modutils could matter.  It smells much more like
a problem with, say, CPU-specific magic register
fondling, or something like that.  I mean, this thing
just dies immediately, like right after the kernel
image is dragged into memory and first given control.
