Karl,
I bought my cable modem for AT&T's network several months ago.
I however got mine at Circuit City, it is a Toshiba external one and so
far has not presented me with any problems. I don't recall the pricing
but you could always check it out with them. What put me over the top
to buy it from them was some sort of rebate at the time, and the real
kicker was the 5 year warranty.
