Log files are written when you create or edit transactions, AFAICT David D hasn’t gotten that far. The Trace file is written to AppData/Roaming/Temp in the user’s home directory and on Windows there’s one for every run of GnuCash *provided* GnuCash runs long enough to write one. But if libguile isn’t loading then GnuCash isn’t getting far enough along to do that either.
Whatever the problem is I’d be very surprised to learn that it has to do with dot-Net. GnuCash doesn’t use dot-Net at all. Exception code 0xc000005 is a memory access violation, the same as a segfault on Unix. The best way to diagnose those is with a stack trace. GnuCash is compiled with gcc and has DWARF debugging symbols so Visual Studio can’t create a useful backtrace. Https://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/Stack_Trace has instructions for getting a stack trace with the Mingw64 gdb debugger; another way is to install Dr.Mingw (https://github.com/jrfonseca/drmingw) and use their CatchSegv tool.
