From: "soter" <[email protected]> Instead of denying his involvement in inciting the parishioners as reported in a section of the press, the Parish Priest should have outrightly condmened such use of violence as it is against christian teachings.
COMMENT wrt the Goons who rampaged through Colva: Based on the reports I have read and heard, there is NO question as to What the Goons did and How they should be dealt with. Chaps/Chappies who vandalise public property or property which does not belong to them, and assault others, should be meted out the treatment as prescribed by the law. They should be arrested, charged and dealt with by the courts as per IPC. Vandalising property and assault/battery of others are criminal acts. There is NO ambiguity in the law when it relates to such crimes. The "hurt of feelings" does NOT justify the criminal "taking of the law in one's own hands". BTW: I see no difference between the actions of the Vandals of Colva and those of the Vandals of Fontainhas. Accordingly, I trust that all those who are (rightly) criticising the Colva Goons actions and Digu Kaka .....were also at hand to criticise the Vandals of Fontainhas and Mahohar Parrikar. jc
