Well, i'm not affiliated in any way with IE ( i stopped using it many
years ago). What I'm trying to do is support the widest possible
audience. IE 8 and 7, are the browser of choice for millions of
users.

After banging my head, I still don't know why it wouldn't work. And
yes, i tried compatibility view, IE7, etc. It snaps to odd places. At
first I thought that maybe the avoid highways option  will fix it but
it didn't.

It's truly odd that the second example, when the "snapping" is done
when the marker drag finishes, works perfectly
