But have you tried the <meta> tag method? Obviously you couldn't on Mike's example, you'd need to make your own copy for that. Once you do have your own example, you add GLogs e.g. of click coordinates to find out whats happening. Are you using this example in some other part of the world? It can only snap where streets are known, but that doesn't seem to be what you're describing.
