Hi TSR, If you can frame your feedback a little more constructively, I'd be happy to discuss this new feature with you, and help find any problems it may have caused.
Regarding performance, we test and measure the performance every time we make a change, and we have not been able to find any degradation of performance with this feature. That being said, sometimes there are edge cases we don't catch. Can you let me know what browser you're using, and any more detail about what feels sluggish to you? and when it is unresponsive? As for selecting text, we paid very close attention to this issue when adding this feature, and we believe you should be able to select text as before, but we realize the color / styling of some of our highlighting is confusing to users. We have some plans for fixing and improving this and should get them out soon. If you can give some specific feedback on precise things that are difficult to do right now, we'll happily look closely at those issues and do our best to fix them.
