the i2b2 query just picks out a set of patients and specifies which
concepts the data builder should get for those patients. The data builder
disregards date constraints when looking for facts for concepts such as
prior diagnosis.
I think maybe we (UTHSCSA) did things incorrectly. We linked back to
identified dates then used them to remove data not in the date range (Jan-
or-May 2013 to May 2014). So we removed NAACCR encounters where date of
diagnosis was not in the date range, even if the patient had another tumor
in the date range. Seems like we should only have removed data for
patients with no tumor in the date range. Is this correct?
