DVD+/-R disks do work fine with Nero under 2003SBS, as does both Nero
and InCD with, DVD+/-RW disks.
I recommend avoiding InCD or any other UDF packet writing programme.
They are not completely reliable (disks need to be formatted
semi-regularly) and put an unnecessary load on the system.
Peter,
Some practices need to do this, but the majority I've seen don't have
this problem. I find the advantage of having practices using automated
backups with InCD, at a cost small ones will pay, outweighs this
occasional issue, as the alternative in this situation has often been no
backups or infrequent ones.
The worst I've seen is that the disks cease to be re-writeable, so the
data isn't lost, and getting the GPs involved to spring for new RW disks
periodically is not too much problem. The +RW disks format very quickly
with recent versions of InCD.
I have plenty of GPs whose backup systems with this method work reliably
for comparable periods to other media and regimes.
