Agree and thanks. Funnily enough I have enormous trouble with dvd rams
on my particular server and LG multidrive. For instance the drive spat
on brand new ritec dvd rams recently (UDF formatted tried to reformat in
fat 32 could not complete format etc) even trying to view the drive
crashes the current view. Same drives and dvd rams work perfectly under
XP!

John,

I you have DVD-RAM working in your current environment I'd recommend you
stay with for archives it as it is reputed to be the most stable media
available.

DVD+/-R disks do work fine with Nero under 2003SBS, as does both Nero
and InCD with, DVD+/-RW disks.

For archives DVD-RAM is great, while for rotating backup sets DVD+/-RW
and InCD work well enough, in my experience. DVD-RAM, is, of course, a
re-writeable media too.
