It's just not that simple John. Even with the fastest server available, reading and writing files takes time, and when you are doing everything else on the same box, it takes more time.

Every path company except Healthlink I've encountered has happily agreed to let me install on a workstation. With Healthlink they try to stop this, and I simply disobey their demands (without problem I might add). I have never suggested doctors change path companies - my job is just to make what I am given work as efficiently as possible.

It doesn't. It just adds a substantial load to the things you have to take care of in a server emergency. This reason alone far outweighs the occasional permission problems experienced on a workstation.
