<big snip> I love the way path services are deemed generic enough that

You "path" people only have the likes of Fetch to blame for this state of
affairs.
The big path companies have oodles of money and they come up with such a
crappy product (fetch) I'm suprised Microsoft haven't claimed it as their
own.

Little old QML has had the neatest, smallest most efficient download app for
years that just works wherever I LET them install it.
Yes I said LET them install it. I control the network not some 3rd party
pathology company who IS REPLACABLE !

(sorry JP this is the market you have gotten yourself into :)

<another big snip>
Is there really significant issues with "server crashes" (meaning
nonfuntioning servers) as a result of misbehaving download apps or is this
more FUD being spread...
<end huge snip>

Q. How do you make a server really reliable ?
A. Don't install any software or apps on it.

Reality; install a little as possible.
Outcome: Path downloaders go on PC's - PERIOD.

Andrew Cameron.
Gold Coast.

Disclaimer: I have no affiliations with QML I just think their downloader is
great and SteveO is what all path company support guys should be like.
Disclaimer2: I have signed an agreement of understanding with Healthlink.
