So I guess the more relevant question is: Is > there room for an independent mailing list for EHR users or would this > detract unfairly from the vendor's forum? The AusMedSoft (http://au.groups.yahoo.com/group/AusMedicalSoftware/) list was set up in 2000 for this purpose. It is a yahoo mailing list, "forum" archive and is searchable. It has a number of other facilities of which only the file repository was used. It was started mainly, but not exclusively, for Medical Director users when HCN was not playing nice.
I am stunned that Genie has dropped its mailing list. The collegiate spirit to be found on that list was one of Genie's greatest attractions. Perhaps that list's biggest problem was that there was no web front end to the archive. I think most of the chatterati here would agree that forums suck. Cheers. David
