what I do and prefer is "tab completion"

When the tab key is pressed, the software checks for the last space preceding
the cursor. The expression behind the space is the search expression, the
last word before the space is the command.
If a comand is found in a command list, the serach expression is expanded
according to the settings for that command - every subseqent tab at the same
position just cycles through all possible completions.

Example: when I type "rx amox<tab>" it converts it into "Prescribed:
Amoxycillin tablets 500mg x 20 no repeats - take one tablet three times
daily". If I hit tab again, it presents similar info with the 250mg etc.

If I hit enter, several things happen instantly:
1.) the autocompleted text gets accepted in the progress notes
2.) the prescribed medication is added to the printout queue for scripts
3.) the medication records are updated with that information

If I type "dx om<tab>" in my progress notes, it will expand to "Diagnosis"
Otitis media", and a dialog for coding pops up *if* that expression hasn't
already been accepted as "routine code" before (= per expression the coding
box will only ever pop up once per user)

and so forth.

That workflow suits me well, but others don't like it. Horses for courses - I
am just so used to tab autocompletion.
