Just finished installing Linux on ...
... a few brand new mini macs (1.83 core duo )

What a lovely hardware! Makes no noise, generates no heat, takes up almost no
desk space, has plenty of grunt, and the biggest suprise is that something
produced by Apple is actually value for money

IMHO the very best compromise between thin clients and full desktops. Even
good enough to drive our 1920x1200 screens :-)))

Only two things that I'd wish the mini macs had, then it would be *perfect*:
- eSATA connector
- second ethernet port

Otherwise, it is coming closest to perfect from all the machines and
configurations I am aware of. Makes a beaut headless web and mail server for
a surgery :-)))

What was disappointing though was the software it came with - OS/X is neither
chalk (Windows) nor cheese (Linux) but a rather ugly mix of the two in too
many aspects - but luckily Ubuntu Linux installs in no time.
