Wrong. Telstra may have been the only option under B4H, but definitely not the 
only option for ADSL.

Wrong again. The Telstra B4H plan only covers a very limited data transfer 
allowance (unless something has changed since I looked last year). Once you 
exceed that, you will have to pay for it through your nose, about two orders 
of magnitude more per volume than with most other providers.

Since Telstra  also engages in double dipping (charging and counting both 
upstream and downstream) this can result in astronomic costs should you 
decide to use your broadband plan for something sensible as for example 
unattended offsite backups

Lastly - the services are NOT free, and the moey doesn't grow on trees. They 
are paid for with taxpayers money. Money somebody worked hard for, and then 
was deprived of that money. Most doctors pay a considerable part of their 
income in taxes - so they *do* pay for B4H.

What you are essentially doing with B4H is saving pennies while spending 
dollars - just possibly someone else's dollars.
