Chris, because of the time frame involved and the fact that you
didn't quote the thread in your reply, I can barely remember your
first question. It's was several thousand e-mails ago for me.
I wanted an answer and I wanted to avoid any bias that might be
introduced
based on who was asking the question. I believe I achieved this. The
response I actually received was really good - until I stuffed it up!
I may have been guilty of the same thing in the past, but I wouldn't
have used one of my own domains or mail servers to do so and
therefore would not have been caught in the same manner.
I don't know. It seems that maybe philosophical differences are maybe
driving the deployment of Argus more than any particular benefit
through the
licensing model, but I'm open to correction on this.
I think the need for free secure messaging is driving the development
of Argus. I don't understand how that is separate from the licensing
model, which is an integral part of the 'free'.
What I don't want to be accused of is putting any business
relationship above providing the best
solution for my Customers.
If you don't want to be accused of something, don't do it.
I felt rather embarrassed that I couldn't answer so basic a question
(paraphrased) - "All these savvy guys are SOOOOOO keen (on Argus),
surely
there must be something in it, other than technological bias?".
Why is there a bias? Because, as others have pointed out, Argus is
here, it's free and it works. Answer enough?
regards,
Peter.
