i would caution against trying to back pedal after a windoze install -
any attempt to install an older o.s. invariably requires a complete
reformat to avoid error messages pointing out you are swimming upstream,
and refusal to allow you such an inexplicable thing
i mean, imagine thinking bill doesn't know what's best for you (planned
obsolescence and the spiral of upgrade, including drivers, and often
devices as well - been there with a scanner which is perfectly
operational, but only with win 98, _not_ xp)
