The "demand" is a self-defeating argument. There is no demand for another database engine or a different desktop OS, because there is no option for it. You write to BP and ask if it is available and they will say no. Then you decide whether you buy the product with MSSQL and Windows or not. We know a lot of peolpe use linux/mac in other scenarios but are forced to use the base product in their medical surgeries. The cleverest software house would make a bootable cd distro, based on a bootable linux -with-medical-software-integrated, with hardware autodetection and $$$ savings on OS, database, office, antivirus and so on. I, for one, would pay healthily for such a product, and the money would go to the software house raher than the Bill Gates Malaria Fund It still isn't economical for BP to try conversion of data from the program I am using in order to tempt me to use their product, and it is likely I willl drift to the product that does a really good conversion. jh -- It doesn't seem real The way things turned out It doesn't seem real Now your heads full of doubt But now they all jump back in fear As if I really care They just stand and stare Split Enz - Under The Wheel (P Judd, T Finn) _______________________________________________ Gpcg_talk mailing list [email protected] http://ozdocit.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/gpcg_talk
