Dear Horst, thanks for your response and explication. I apologise for being over reactionary.

If I can pick up on your final point and develop it - never made an impression on pollies even after many efforts at trying. I'm sure this is true for everyone practitioner on this list. I don't know why you (collective not individual pronoun) have not succeeded, however my suggestion was that it could be in part a lack of clearly described instances of ITs value. I am thankful for Horst's examples and David More has urged me to follow up more in other locations, however it is going to take some unique combination of real life examples to get people's attention

cheers
jon

Obviously, I'm not and I was invited to join this list because I am not
practising medicine. Your sarcasm on the matter is inappropriate.

No sarcasm intended.

Misunderstanding probably due to my incomplete grasping of the English language and Anglosaxon culture (English was my 5th language at school after German, Spanish, Latin and French - honestly - and I was never interested in it beyond Internet participation until I moved to Australia 9 years ago)

Was meant as an introductory statement - I did not want to belittle you or state the obvious with the following sentences that would have been obvious to clinicians. Thought that introductory statement was clarifying that I am not boring my colleagues with the obvious but explaining a non-clinician (you) what might not be obvious to him

For all it is worth, those arguments (and many others) have been repeatedly brought forward, published and discussed on many occasions and in many fora that involved attendance by politicians and bureaucrats, but never made any impression (eg during my time as active GPCG MC member)

Horst
